Community Outreach allows Jacob's Ladder to meet real needs across Prince George's County and surrounding communities. Through public events, school support, food distribution, holiday outreach, awareness events, and community partnerships, Jacob's Ladder strengthens the community by staying connected to the people who need support most.

Community Outreach serves the community at large, with a strong focus on underserved communities, youth, seniors, people with disabilities, Title I schools, families, and students experiencing homelessness or high need.
Jacob's Ladder works closely with schools, agencies, businesses, churches, volunteers, and community partners to respond to real needs and connect people to resources throughout the year.

Trades create real opportunities for young people to sustain themselves, support their families, and pursue strong career paths. This program gives youth hands-on exposure to careers they may not have considered before.

Credible Messenger
12-week program with 4-week cycles per trade. Multiple cohorts held throughout the year.

Food Distribution
Providing food support to families and community members in need throughout the year.
Toy Drives
Annual toy drives to ensure youth in the community receive gifts during the holiday season.
Thanksgiving Support
Holiday meals and support to help families during the Thanksgiving season.
Christmas Support
Holiday outreach and resource connection to support families through the Christmas season.
Back-to-School Events
Events that prepare youth and families for the school year with supplies, resources, and community connection.
Backpack Giveaways
Distributing backpacks and school supplies to youth heading into a new school year.
Teacher Supply Support
Supporting educators with classroom supplies to help them better serve students.
Awareness Events
Public events that raise awareness about issues affecting youth, families, and communities.
Juneteenth
Celebrating Juneteenth with community programming, culture, and connection.
National Night Out
Participating in and hosting National Night Out events to build community trust and awareness.
Harvest Fest
Annual community event celebrating fall, family, and community togetherness.
Community Resource Events
Events connecting families to local services, agencies, and support organizations.
Support for Title I Schools
Outreach and resource support for schools and students with the greatest need.
