About This Program
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — but at Jacob's Ladder it is focused heavily on technology, exposure, and hands-on learning.
The program gives youth access to experiences they may not otherwise have, helping them identify interests that can turn into educational pathways, career goals, and purpose.
Schedule
STEM programming currently happens about three times per week through Jacob's Ladder and school/community partnerships.
From Exposure to Opportunity
Jacob's Ladder's STEM vision is to help youth move from simple exposure to real skill-building. Through hands-on experiences, certifications, creative projects, technology training, and career exploration, the program helps young people become more competitive for future education, employment, entrepreneurship, and trade opportunities.

Why STEM Matters
Technology continues to shape the future of education, work, business, and community life. Jacob's Ladder uses STEM to help youth gain exposure to fields they may not otherwise experience.
The goal is not only certification. The goal is exposure, excitement, confidence, and helping youth discover what they may want to pursue. By making learning hands-on and practical, STEM helps youth build confidence and understand how science, technology, engineering, and math connect to real careers.
Connected to Schools and Communities
Jacob's Ladder's STEM work includes both in-house programming and school-based partnerships throughout Prince George's County. Connections include schools and community partners involved in drones, aviation, 3D animation, filmmaking, electric vehicle exposure, trades, and other hands-on learning opportunities.
